Explaining the challenges and strategies for formulating and implementing faculty development in educational planning will be a significant help to managers and planners. With this in mind, the purpose of this review study is to examine the challenges, solutions, and suggestions for teaching faculty members through a narrative review using searches in SID, Magiran, PubMed, Eric, Ovid, Scopus, and Engine databases. Google Scholar Search from 2011 to 2021. Articles were analyzed using directional analysis based on systemic environmental environment (process, input, output). Based on the review, 422 articles were found, 399 articles were deleted based on search criteria after screening the title, abstract or duplicate, and finally the full text of 23 articles was reviewed. The main categories of the study, including the existing challenges and strategies for promoting faculty empowerment programs, were categorized under the input, process, and output categories. With solutions and challenges, it can be concluded that coordination and solving individual and organizational problems can have an impact on improving the quality of faculty empowerment programs. Every university should pay attention to this, ask for its own strategies, and depending on the university, each of the factors will be different.
